'Demand and Supply' is basic knowledge in economics. When supplies do not meet the demand, the price of the commodity will naturally go up. Unfortunately, this is also true for popular gaming consoles, especially during the quarantine season. As major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and even Target are running out of Nintendo Switch stock. The popular console's usual MSRP is around $299 US. But now it is going up to $360 US and even beyond $500 US by some third party sources and retailers. If you really want to get your hands on a Switch then check out this video and consider buying the alternative Nintendo Switch Lite.
But all hope is not lost for those who are still planning to buy the original Nintendo Switch console. Nintendo released a statement saying that "more systems are on the way". The added supply will hopefully stabilize the price once again so non-owners can get their hands on the system without spending too much.
